What is Dry Needling?

“Dry needling” means translated from English “dry needling; dry because the thin needle is used without medication. In this form of therapy, an acupuncture needle is inserted into trigger points (muscular tension). While this does involve the use of acupuncture needles, it is not acupuncture, but a physiotherapeutic form of therapy. Trigger points are those points on the body that are very sensitive to pressure and can cause tremendous physical pain when they are tense.
